Nature of Work:
This is a highly responsible administrative position in the Office of the Registrar requiring keen organizational, communications and intermediate data entry skills. Works to ensure a smooth transition to UWG for all transfer students. Determine disposition of incoming transcripts and other transfer related documents for new and continuing students. Assist with retrieving, reviewing and posting of determined advanced placement (AP) and CLEP reports. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the duplicate transfer credit notification report. Document and govern the intake of the undergraduate and graduate transient status permission form which requires collaboration with the dean’s office, department chairs, faculty, academic advising areas and staff about the appropriate submission of the transient status permission form. Interprets and explains to students, deans, department chairs, faculty, academic advising areas and staff the policies and procedures governing the transient status permission form.
High School diploma plus 2 years related experience required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to facilitate and foster effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, faculty and staff, and work autonomously on assigned tasks and projects. Display a high aptitude to comprehend and grasp information quickly; possess high standards of ethics, honesty, integrity and confidentiality. Must have the ability to type 40-50 wpm and consistently produce accurate work.
Experience in higher education (preferably in the office of the registrar) and knowledge of the Banner Transfer Module preferred.
Salary $14.48 minimum - $17.85 midpoint
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to move around the office freely, communicate without restriction, comfortable working in a team environment with the ability to perform some work outside of normal working hours. Must perform duties with 100% accuracy.
