Respiratory Therapy Instructor
Full-time faculty position teaching in the theory, lab, and clinical settings for the Respiratory Therapy Program, a CoARC accredited program. Duties include teaching assigned courses and developing/maintaining course content and appropriate instructional materials for the courses assigned. Instructor will work with the Dean of Health Sciences, the Program Director, and the Director of Clinical Education to meet program accreditation requirements and provide input into program policies and curriculum issues. The instructor will serve as a member of the Respiratory Therapy Program Advisory Committee and discharge the duties and responsibilities of a Monroe County Community College faculty member as outlined by the faculty contract. As an integral member of the Division, individual is expected to develop effective collegial relationships, work closely with students and local employers, and promote Division programs and the College in general.
Bachelor’s degree required; bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field preferred. RRT credential - valid, unencumbered respiratory care practitioner license in Michigan required; Ohio licensure desirable. Four years’ experience as a RRT with at least two years’ in clinical respiratory care; minimum two years’ experience teaching in an accredited RTH program as appointed faculty member or clinical preceptor. Evidenced teaching skill and ability to identify and implement assessment of student learning strategies and practices.
