Duties:

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is essential to support the continuous development of unrestricted and restricted funds for the Moraine Valley Community College Foundation. The Assistant Director will develop and manage the annual fund with a primary focus on annual fund solicitation and scholarship facilitation. Responsibilities include donor cultivation, donor recognition, stewardship, prospect research, scholarship management and donor relations. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Foundation Executive Director, the Foundation Board of Directors to develop and achieve annual fund campaign goals. The Assistant Director will manage day-to-day operations of the annual fund campaign (75%) and scholarship management (25%), including regular phone and in-person contact with donors, volunteers, scholarship awardees and scholarship donors; manage and facilitate scholarship application and awarding process through online system; and provide all necessary staff support for the annual fund campaign. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing or related field, Master’s degree preferred; three to five years’ experience working in fundraising and relationship building, community college fundraising preferred.

Qualifications:

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is a proactive nonprofit leader who has a proven track record of program development and volunteer management; demonstrated experience in problem solving and project management; enthusiastic sales, customer service or development professional with proven relationship building skills; excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to plan and complete tasks working independently and as part of a team; must possess high level analytical, organizational, problem solving, managerial, administrative, and communication skills; deadline and detail oriented; social media experience a plus; proficiency working with a data base; plus other duties as assigned.

Hours:  Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Minimum Starting Rate: $56,305.00
