Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests, experiments and determinations in support of Duke University research operations. Work Performed We are seeking a self-motivated, organized & supportive individual who has sufficient knowledge and training in molecular biology & protein chemistry to join an exciting laboratory studying the function of neural stem cells in health and disease. The main responsibilities would be maintaining a small mouse colony, genotyping, SDS-PAGE/western blotting, Immunoprecipitation, cell culture, cloning, RNA/DNA purification, designing primer/plasmid and other laboratory responsibilities as required. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:
Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology or other science related scientific field.

Experience:
None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills:
Well trained with molecular biology & protein chemistry related techniques.
