Posting Summary:
The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education at the University of Virginia is seeking qualified acting applicants for their Mursion Interactor. The Mursion Interactor performs (acting, improvisation, standardized patient and/or role-playing) for the Mursion mixed-reality virtual simulator which is used to train pre-service teachers and teacher candidates in a teaching environment and parent teacher conferences. The Interactor listens and responds to the participants and matches and maintains distinct, realistic voices to ensure the highest simulation experience for the pre-service teachers or teacher candidates.

A high school diploma is required as is experience performing (acting, improvisation, standardized patient and/or role-playing). The ability to listen and respond with sincerity, empathy, and emotional honesty is required as is the ability to match and maintain distinct, realistic voices. The ability to understand and honestly portray diverse psychological profiles is essential as is mastery of their actor's voice, body, and imagination. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are also required. Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word) and video conferencing skills are required. Experience with gaming technology is preferred as is experience in a teaching or education environment. A knowledge of pop culture is preferred.

Interactors will work 5 to 10 hours per week. Class times will vary M-F between 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Auditions will be held via Skype.

These are at-will, part-time, wage positions that do not carry benefits.
