Position Summary: Governors State University (GSU) is seeking to fill the position of Resource & Policy Analyst. This is an administrative position reporting to the Budget Director. This position assists in development of GSUa€™s annual budget including internal and external reporting and related policy development. This position ensures compliance and understanding of all data related to and used for monitoring and reporting of the budget, projections, actuals and analyses. This position performs high level calculations and conducts or assists in a wide variety of financial studies serving as the liaison regarding the day-to-day operations of OBFP (Office of Budget and Financial Planning). Qualified candidates will demonstrate the following: - Familiarity with GSUa€™s mission, strategic goals and compliance requirements - Ability to analyze data and information, draw conclusions, and make recommendations. Creative thinker who proposes innovative ways to look at problems using data mining, analysis and ability to conceptualize, document, and communicate data processes and technical concepts to all levels of colleagues - Strong project management, time management, and positive interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively, build effective working relationships, work effectively with University leadership and faculty, and be a team oriented leader - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Other Responsibilities: - Ensure data integrity and compliance including internal controls, internal /external audit requests - Maintain the Budget & Financial Planning web page and related content on the GSU Portal - Lead direction and training for University staff on budget process, systems and data management - Assume responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, public administration, or related discipline - Five years professional experience in one or more of the following areas: budgeting, financial research methodology, statistics, business or data management - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and aptitude for databases, data retrieval / analysis and reporting; WEBI and Tableau a plus - Highly motivated with ability to prioritize. Adaptable to process, policy and other changes as part of a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications: - Five years progressive work experience in higher education or possess a strong enthusiasm to learn about higher education (University, Community College or state agency associated with higher education preferred) - Mastera€™s degree or graduate work desired in business or related concentrations in financial data, statistics and/or data management - Knowledge and familiarity with Ellucian ERP systems (Colleague)
