Advertised Job Summary
This position entails a wide range of responsibilities for maintaining buildings, piers, equipment, vehicles, boats, seawater delivery system, grounds, and other components of the research and education facility. Working with another trades worker, day to day tasks include troubleshooting problems, making repairs, carrying out routine preventative actions, and working with research staff to develop unique tools and applications. The overall challenge is to keep the facilities and fleets operating efficiently and safely as well as keeping the buildings and grounds looking good. The list of needed actions is always long, requiring a skills in many areas, a strong work ethic, and dedication to the job.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
High school diploma and 2 years directly related trade experience.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Advanced knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and in construction trades applicable to the job. Thorough understanding of techniques, methods, and procedures of the trades and craft areas. Must have valid driver's license.
