The Administrative Manager manages the day-to-day operations of a large unit including organization, coordination, and management of all administrative areas of the department. Ensures operations and administrative tasks in the department are executed effectively and efficiently. Typically manages department budgets including grant spending, if applicable, administration of human resources activities, and facility and/or equipment planning. Often develops department policies and processes and communicates University and department policies and procedures to faculty, staff, and students. Typically supervises a small administrative staff.

Responsibilities also include managing, organizing and coordinating all administrative and financial aspects of the department, in collaboration with the Chairman, to ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of the department. Responsible for grants management currently for six full time professorial rank faculty investigators, each with current and/or pending Federal grant awards.  Directly managing academic needs of two additional full time faculty and 6+ part time faculty and other DPH non-comp faculty.

Required Skills

5-8 years of experience and Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred.
