Director of Development for Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences
Educational and Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing or related field with at least five years of development, sales, marketing or experience in a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in fundraising in a medical school, nursing, or health sciences. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Primary Responsibilities: The Director of Development for Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences is responsible for planning, scheduling, implementing and evaluating activities to cultivate and solicit major gift prospects, who are capable of making commitments of $25,000 and more. In this capacity the Director communicates frequently with assigned prospects to discern and cultivate their interest in making contributions and to secure leads on additional prospects from key internal and external constituents. The Director should have a good knowledge of Planned Gifts and how they might leverage additional support from prospects. The Director also provides advice and support to the President, Vice President for University Advancement, and the Associate Vice President of Development. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must be highly motivated, an energetic self-starter, sound judgment and decision making ability, and attention to detail with solid organization ability. Possess strong writing and verbal communication skills, and have exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills.
