Job Description: Custodian Supervisor
This position must ensure all staff members provide clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the residents, employees, and public. The supervisor promotes sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of infection and odors. This position may be required to provide supervision for staff members that work outdoors, sweeping walkways, or removing debris from the outside surrounding areas.
This candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with managing related services in buildings of similar size and complexity, approximately 300,000 to 600,000 square feet. The ideal candidate must be fluent in English and experienced in providing proactive solutions to meet the demands of this position. Effective communication is a must, and prior experience in coaching and training team members is a plus. No resumes will be accepted that do not meet these minimum qualifications.
This position demands good physical and mental health. The housekeeper will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.
•Ensure that all office space, hallways, meeting rooms, restrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, stairwells, elevators and public areas are clean and sanitize using established practices and procedures. Refill restroom dispensers. Stock them with soap, toilet paper, and other supplies as required.
•Ensure that all staff members clean, dust and wipe down all furniture; all floors are sweep, mop, or vacuum respectively; all wastebaskets are empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns; replace light bulbs. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events.
•Ensure that all floors are strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum carpets.
•Ensure all staff members properly use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of furniture, floors, walls, and carpets.
•Ensure all accessible interior and exterior windows are cleaned. Clean blinds as outlined in the company's QC plan. Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
•Ensure that all staff members safely use ladders when required in work assignments.
•Ensure all staff members are following instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
•Ensure all staff members perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment as needed.
•Supervise staff members in the moving of furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.
•Perform all other assigned duties as required.
