Responsibilities:

The Postdoctoral Research Associate performs basic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods in the following areas: numerical methods for applied electromagnetics, physics-based signal processing and model-based inversion on electromagnetic signals and x-ray signals. She/He will also contribute to the hardware development and integration of a new dual system, based on millimeter wave radar and x-ray backscatter. Assist the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. Maintain the laboratory and will assist the faculty members in the process of formation new graduate and undergraduate students. Primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete. The appointment generally does not extend beyond two years.

Qualifications:

The candidate will be associated with the whole body imaging grant that Professors Carey Rappaport and Jose Martinez currently have with the Department of Homeland Security. The candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship together with good written and oral communication skills.
