Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston which provides career focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our approximately 1,400 students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor.

The purpose of this position is to support the athletic recruitment and new student enrollment goals for the College.

Primary Functions:
1. Perform activities necessary for the successful recruitment of new student athletes for the College's undergraduate programs.
2. Respond to inquiries through phone, electronic, and in-person communications.
3. Conduct admissions interviews as necessary.
4. Conduct information sessions.
5. Attend recruitment events, such as college fairs.
6. Formulate and execute a visit plan to high schools and high school guidance counselors.
7. Read student application files for admission into College programs.
8. Attend admission committee meetings.
9. Support the overall recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions.
10. Work collaboratively with other admissions counselors as part of the Office of Admissions team.
11. Work closely with coaches from all of the college's athletic programs including:
a. In conjunction with coaches from each team, develop individual marketing and recruitment plans for each team.
b. Execute marketing for athletic recruitment, inclusive of direct mail, email and online.
c. Act as the primary liaison with potential athletic recruits during their junior and sophomore years in high school.
d. Coordinate overnight visits for potential recruits.
e. Maintain up-to-date database of recruits.
f. Report weekly on status of athletic recruitment t both Admissions and Athletics, and provide recruitment training to coaches as necessary.Mount Ida College is an Equal Opportunity Employer. 1. Bachelor's degree required.

2. Three or more years of admissions experience strongly preferred.

3. College Athletic background preferred but not required.

4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

5. Strong writing skills.

6. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with superb customer service skills.

7. Attentive to detail.

8. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, Social Media; strong competency with technology a plus.

9. Prior experience as an admissions counselor strongly preferred

10. The position requires extensive travel during the fall months, some of which may involve overnight.

11. Ability and willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
