Coordinator of Academic Support and Tutoring
Tusculum College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Coordinator of Academic Support and Tutoring for the college’s Tutoring Center based at the main campus in Greeneville. This is a 12-month, full-time position. This position manages the daily operation of the college’s Tutoring Center and associated services. Some evening and weekend work is required along with travel between the main campus and sites in Knoxville and Morristown. The Coordinator of Academic Support and Tutoring facilitates the delivery of tutoring services to college’s diverse populations of students—both traditional residential college students and adult-learners who primarily attend evening classes. The Coordinator of Academic Support and Tutoring maintains responsibility for: hiring and oversight of part-time personnel who work for the Tutoring Center, facilitation of select testing services (DSST), and other academic support as related to the college’s Student Support Services TRIO Program. Additional duties include data collection for Department of Education reporting; designing and participating in program activities; performance evaluation of staff; collaboration with faculty and staff as necessary for the facilitation of program services; collegiate advising; serving on committees; and general academic support to students.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred. Preference is given to those with previous experience facilitating academic support services (preferably in a higher education environment). The successful candidate must have experience working with diverse populations of academically deficient students, personnel supervision, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous experience working with college students is preferred, and previous program management and collegiate advising experience a plus.
