Advertised Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the HR Information Systems manager, this position is responsible for the organization, implementation, and direction of the personnel records management program for all non-student personnel records for the University of South Carolina, which includes seven system campuses and two medical school campuses. Responsible for the editing, scanning, indexing, validation, and audit of personnel records, and assuring quality of documents. Responsible for telephone and written verification of employment, and assures compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and State and University policy and procedure. Responsible for preventative maintenance of records area equipment, coordinating with outside vendors as necessary. Responsible for records disposition in accordance with retention schedules and serves as the liaison with the designated records manager of the University to review and maintain retention and disposition schedules as it relates to HR. Retrieve and compile information needed for internal and external audits; reply to subpoena requests, and assist employees with viewing of their personnel record.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree; or high school diploma and 4 years experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.
