Professional Research Assistant

The Professional Research Assistant will work within the Division of Family Planning, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

This role will be to coordinate activities required to perform clinical protocols, recruit for clinical studies, schedule study participant clinic visits, accurately record and enter data, respond to data queries from study sponsors, and support physician investigators.

This position requires that you work with other PRAs in the Division of Family Planning. Activities will be split between the Anschutz Medical Campus and the Lowry campus in Denver.

The PRA in this position will not be called on to make independent medical decisions at any time, but a solid fundamental knowledge of biological and medical sciences is necessary for this position. Additionally, an appreciation of accepted methods of clinical research is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Careful attention to detail, ability to work independently, and to ability interact with both clinical research subjects and other health professionals is critical to success in this position.

Factual and experiential knowledge will be important. However, those individuals with significant intellectual capacity and excellent factual knowledge can be successful in that experiential knowledge can accrue during the course of the job being performed.

The individual must be able to utilize Windows-based computers for communication, data extraction, and completion of clinical reporting forms as required. Experience using Microsoft Office® including Excel® is essential and use of Microsoft Access® is preferred.

  • Ability to perform venipuncture and vital signs is required.
  • The individual hired in this position must be able to work with the research and clinical staff.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • This position requires a bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in research is required.
  • We prefer those with a working knowledge of COMIRB requirements and activities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred for this position.
