Position Summary:

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics LASP is a seeking a software engineer to join our Operations Software OSW team. The OSW team provides software systems and solutions necessary for performing space-based instrument development and satellite mission operations for NASA programs and commercial customers.

Job Duties:
  • Support full life cycle software development tasks including requirements analysis, software design, coding, unit testing, integration, installation and maintenance
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code Maintain code quality, organization & automation of source code baselines
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests


Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering with applicable experience
  • Experience programming in C++/C or Java
  • Proficient with Unix/Linux based environments Willingness to learn new languages, technologies, and methodologies
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools e.g. git, svn, cvs
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience programming in Python
  • Experience developing web-based applications
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
