We are currently seeking an Office Assistant who will advance the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, performs basic clerical duties including but not limited to the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Answer telephone, handling multiple lines.

Handle routine office inquiries.

May use the following software: PeopleSoft, Word, Excel.

Assist with on-campus registration, if applicable.

Operate office equipment such as computer, copier, fax, typewriter, and calculator.

Refer students to appropriate person or department.

File or bind correspondence and other records/documents.

Type correspondence and other documents from notes, copies, or rough drafts.

Scan and process departmental documents such as surveys or office documents.

Process all incoming and outgoing mail.

Provide support to other areas as needed.

Maintain inventory of office supplies, orders maintenance/repairs for office equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE

One (1) year experience in an office environment preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Good written and oral communication skills

Good organizational skills

Good software skills (word processing and spreadsheet).

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with a diverse population

Ability to alphabetize
