The College of Mathematics and Science currently has 135 full-time and over 70 part-time faculty in 7 academic departments. The College serves more than 3,600 undergraduate students in 26 majors and provides graduate programs in Biology, Applied Mathematical Science, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Computational Science, Engineering Physics, and Nursing. Accreditation/Certification is held by ABET, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the American Board of Funeral Service Education, and the American Chemical Society. Visiting faculty are employed by the university to teach or perform research for a limited time. This is a non-tenure track, temporary position. Service or research may be expected.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions
Position includes instruction of undergraduate nursing students in the classroom, lab, and clinical areas. Occasional participation in Departmental meetings, committees and projects may be required.
An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
Master's degree in Nursing is required. Doctorate in Nursing or related area is preferred. Current Oklahoma Registered Nursing license, CPR, vaccination status and tuberculosis testing are required. Drug screen will be required before starting clinical duties. Current clinical Nursing experience is required. At least two years of clinical nursing experience are required. Previous experience teaching and evaluating students in the clinical area is preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively with teaching team is required. Strong communication skills are necessary.
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
