Adjunct Instructor, Linguistics – Chinese Literature and Culture
Hofstra University’s Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, and Linguistics is seeking applicants for a temporary replacement position in Chinese Literature and Culture. The successful candidate will be hired to teach a course in Chinese literature in fall 2017. The course, titled “Self and Society in Chinese Literature,” explores the concept of self in relation to Chinese society from Confucius to the Post-Mao era. Readings include works by some of China’s most celebrated writers. While the successful candidate would need to cover this course, additional teaching responsibilities may be possible. Applicants should have a PhD or ABD in a relevant discipline by the time of appointment.
