The University of South Dakota's Beacom School of Business is growing its innovation and entrepreneurship program and seeks a core team member as an Instructor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship with a Spring 2018 preferred start date.

The Beacom School of Business is the flagship business school in South Dakota and the region with its programs consistently receiving high national rankings from institutions such as U.S. News and World Report, Princeton Review and others. The USD Beacom School of Business enjoys a strong relationship with multiple entities in innovative and entrepreneurship related activities that engage faculty and students. Examples include the Governor's Office of Economic Development, USD Discovery District in Sioux Falls, and other regental institutions such as the SD School of Mines & Technology.

The successful candidate will engage in academic entrepreneurial related activities primarily including teaching and service related to Beacom entrepreneurship events and programming such as the i2i Business Innovation Competition and Entrepreneur-in-Residence program. The instructor is expected to bring a unique and innovative educational experience to students through classroom teaching and mentorship.

Required: Master degree in Business Administration or related field. A related terminal degree is preferred. An emphasis in entrepreneurship, strategic management or related field is preferred. Preference will be given to those with a degree from an AACSB-International accredited institution. Candidates with experience working with diverse student, staff, and faculty are preferred. Candidates must be willing to teach courses in both the traditional and online environments.

The successful candidate is required to teach in broad entrepreneurship and innovation areas including but not limited to new venture creation, managing change & growth, and entrepreneurial valuation & financing. Industry experience is required; preferred is expertise in new venture creation and management. Proficiency in oral and written communication and dedication to engagement, service and the public good is required.

Preferred Qualifications: The best applicant will have a scholarly interest that complements the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in the School. Experience teaching in an online environment is preferred.

Duties: Duties include teaching undergraduate and, potentially, graduate courses, and engaging in service for the Department, profession, and broader community. Other engagement includes mentoring students interested in entrepreneurship and business innovation, working with students in the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization and student teams preparing for business plan competitions, and assisting with School entrepreneurship events, e.g., i2i Business Innovation Competition.
