Admissions and Enrollment Assistant

Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York, is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The college is located on a serene, wooded campus near the Black River, Lake Ontario and the scenic 1,000 Islands region. It is 30 miles from the Canadian border and 60 miles north of Syracuse, New York. The 10th Mountain Division of the army is based nearby at Fort Drum, and over 40% of SUNY Jefferson students have a military affiliation. The area boasts affordable housing, excellent schools, and four-season weather with an abundance of family-friendly activities.

SUNY Jefferson is conducting a search for a full-time Admissions and Enrollment Assistant.  Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment, this position collaborates with the other members of the admissions team to execute all phases of student recruitment. Jefferson Community College is seeking energetic candidates who believe in the mission and promise of higher education and who enjoy helping students achieve their educational and career goals. The successful candidate will be results-oriented, driven, efficient, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to create positive relationships with students, community members, parents, college counselors and colleagues.

This position involves a significant amount of travel in New York State and a non-traditional work schedule including evening and weekend work assignments.

Required: Associate’s degree and valid driver’s license.

Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree; familiarity with college admissions or student services; management and organizational skills; commitment to customer service; experience with social media and effective technology skills.
