The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care.  The successful candidate will have clinical responsibilities within the cardiovascular division (cardiac catheterization laboratory) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Applicants must have subspecialty training and documented skills in all aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, and a track record of academic productivity. Specific clinical responsibilities also include performing and interpreting invasive (non-interventional) cardiac catheterization studies, percutaneous coronary interventions, outpatient consultative cardiology, and attending in the coronary care unit and inpatient consultative services. In addition, experience and documentation of proficiency in all aspects of structural heart disease, both diagnosis and therapeutic intervention are required. Specific qualifications include training and ability to independently perform patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure, balloon valvuloplasty, transcatheter valve repair, transseptal catheterization, alcohol septal ablation, and transcatheter valve replacement. In addition, experience and specialized training in vascular medicine and peripheral intervention are desired. The candidate will be expected to play an active role in the training of medical students and residents. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology is required.
