Position Summary

Multiple postdoctoral positions are available in the lab of Dr. Galit Pelled at the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and the Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (IQ) at Michigan State University.  The Department of Biomedical Engineering offers a unique environment for performing state-of-the-art research with many top scientists in the field.

The lab of Dr. Galit Pelled is transitioning from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and will be operational starting September 2017.  The research project focuses on:

1. Developing innovative genetic and molecular-based neuromodulation technologies.

2. Studying post-injury plasticity mechanisms in animal models of traumatic brain injury, peripheral nerve injury, spinal cord injury and epilepsy.

3. Designing neuromodulation strategies to facilitate neurorehabilitation.

Required Degree

Doctorate

Minimum Requirements

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.  Candidates with a strong background in neuroscience and/or biomedical engineering, with expertise in electrophysiology, optical imaging, preclinical MRI, and behavior are welcome to submit applications.
