General Statement of Job


To coordinate and implement a system for the accurate accounting, reporting, controlling, and safeguarding Austin Community College (ACC) District Procurement and Travel Cards.



Position Information
Location Service Center Hours 40 hours/week as assigned; Generally Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm Salary Specialist 6/118 ($31,394.00 - $44,848.00) FLSA Status Non-Exempt Reports To Director, Procurement and Materials Management Criminal Background Check Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all Staff and Faculty positions. Pre-employment urinalyses drug screens are also required for all top candidates considered for positions in ACC's College Police department.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates all ACC Procurement and Travel Card activities including answering inquiries, setting up new accounts, issuing new and replacement cards, and setting up payment processes.
  • Serves as a liaison with credit card vendors, the Cashier Office, and Accounts Payable as it concerns Procurement and Travel Cards.
  • Conducts analysis and makes recommendations on matters related to Procurement and Travel Cards.
  • Provides customer service assistance to budget authorities and end users districtwide; reports non-compliance findings to cardholder, budget authority and program administrators; follows up with cardholders regarding all outstanding credit card orders.
  • Provides system administration and maintenance of vendor's online systems for management and tracking.
  • Edits, updates, reviews, and monitors cardholders' spending trends and provides scheduled reports and ad hoc reports.
  • Conducts desktop audits for accuracy and compliance review.
  • Receives and investigates complaints and inquiries pertaining to credit card purchases, reviews documentation and prepares responses.
  • Assists in the development of Procurement Card training materials, forms, procedures, and notices.

    Required Work Experience

    • One year related work experience.




    Preferred Work Experience

    • Accounting or analytical background preferred.




    Required Education

    • Associate degree.




    Preferred Education

    • Bachelor's degree.

    • Must have the ability to read and analyze spreadsheets and reports.




    Physical Requirements

    • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
    • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
    • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

    • Must have ability to read and analyze spreadsheets and reports.

    ACC Benefits Overview

    Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment.     ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
