Position Summary: The Director of Admissions and Recruitment Management serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students who call, visit, or apply to the UNC School of Law. The Director counsels undergraduate students, second career applicants, and prelaw advisors on admission to the UNC School of Law. The Director coordinates a national recruitment schedule for the Office of Admissions, helps to develop and implement innovative methods of recruiting talented applicants, and represents the School of Law at national law school recruitment events. The Director works with the Office of Communications to create recruitment materials across media platforms. The Director reviews applications for admission to the School of Law and participates in the rendering of decisions on applications as a voting member of the Admissions Committee. The Director assists the Assistant Dean for Admissions in developing scholarship strategies and proposing scholarship awards. The Director also completes other administrative duties for the Office of Admissions as assigned. This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Admissions.

Education Requirements: Relevant Post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of admissions and/or student support functions, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and relevant experience in substitution.

Qualification and Experience: Three or more years of admissions and/or student affairs experience preferred. Sophisticated working knowledge of the legal profession and legal education. Experience with database management. Excellent communication, marketing, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Ability to interface and effectively maintain relationships with multiple constituencies. Ability to work independently in high visibility and high stress situations. Ability to make presentations before varied audiences around the country. Other Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives. Experience with PeopleSoft, ACES2, or comparable database management systems.
