What your key responsibilities will be:

The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking an expert in transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to manage and operate our newly established Campus Imaging Facility (CIF). The characterization equipment set resident within the CIF includes a new FEI Titan Themis G2 300 TEM equipped with a probe corrector and Super-X EDX detector and an FEI Tecnai G2 TEM.

The selected applicant will be responsible for a) supporting the research of faculty, students and external scientists using the CIF, b) ensuring safe operations, c) assisting with expanding the CIF user base, d) conducting new user orientation training required for accessing the microscopes, e) managing the maintenance contracts for each of the microscopes, and f) providing financial oversight by managing user-fee income and University investments committed in support of the CIF.

For PhD applicants, the appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Research Professor level commensurate with the candidate's prior experience. The selected candidate will have opportunity to serve as lead Principal Investigator (PI) or as contributing researcher on grant applications submitted to federal agencies, foundations or industry, and over time will be encouraged to develop and submit applications for extramural research funding.


What we require:
A PhD and experience is required for this full-time, continuing Research Faculty appointment.

Experience with microscopes similar to those in the CIF.

What we'd like you to have:
Familiarity with research institutes and federal laboratories.

Experience and working knowledge in transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
