Summary of Job Duties

Program Associate will assist in all aspects of the plant biotechnology research program, laboratory management, and laboratory training of new students. The program associate will generally work in projects related to molecular biology, plant tissue culture, genetic transformation and genomics techniques. The research will involve, but not limited, DNA and RNA analysis, transgenic plant analysis, DNA vector constructions, gene expression analysis, and radioisotope handling. The program associate will manage laboratory orders, laboratory protocols, radioisotope and chemical trash management, laboratory inventory, and the greenhouse. From time to time, the program associate will provide training to the new members of the laboratory.

B.S. in biology or related area, plus three years of related experience OR M.S. in biology or related area. Experience in basic molecular biology and plant tissue culture techniques is required.

Experience in genomics technique is desirable.
