  Position Information  

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2018, with the possibility for reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Under general supervision of the Interim Manager, Budget & Finance, the incumbent is primarily responsible for credit card transactions and requisition submittal. Incumbent is required to use initiative and judgment in analyzing information and determining a course of action within the specification of standard practice and established guidelines. Work is usually performed without direct verification of check. Incumbent communicates established University policies and procedures to department staff, obtaining clarification from others when more extensive interpretation is required; reviews data for accuracy and completeness and makes correcting entries; posts information to journals, registers and ledgers; assembles and compiles data used in the generation of financial reports and/or analysis; balances and reconciles assigned accounts; creates and maintains spreadsheets, including entering, revising, sorting, calculating and creating tables; modifies, runs and exports queries; assists with the modification and documentation of established procedures based on precedent and University policies; and reviews reports for accuracy.

  Compensation and Benefits  

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $2,850 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,710 - $4,489 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Minimum Qualifications 

Equivalent to one year of clerical accounting or financial record-keeping experience (or a combination of education and experience) which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

One or more years of experience in public agency or higher education accounting.

One year of experience using Oracle Financials.

Prior experience in a similar facilities management or higher education environment.

Prior experience with a computerized maintenance management system.

Ability to work effectively in an environment of changing priorities; ability to coordinate and prioritize many different tasks; ability to work independently.
