Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision assists with the administration of the Department's day-to-day operations; maintains and updates employment records; provides front line customer service providing general information on employment, benefits, compensation and policies and procedures to faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Essential Functions:
1. Reviews and inputs employment data into HRIS in a timely manner.
2. Reviews and ensures new hire documents for completeness and in compliance with established procedures.
3. Performs operational support functions for the Department.
  • Supports the Department with record keeping in various areas of compliance and employment, i.e. performance evaluations, confidentiality agreements, FERPA, training and other regulatory forms.
  • Supports employment processes through completing employment verification requests, processing background screenings, processing e-verify forms, and employment applications.
  • Organizes and/or assists with the coordination of unit events and functions.
    4. Assist with recruitment efforts through People Admin.
    5. Assisting with advertising internally and externally while staying in compliance with EEO requirements.
    6. Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested.

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 plus years of administrative support experience.
  • Background understanding in Human Resources principles.

    Duties require constant sitting and repetitive motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Frequent walking, standing and simple grasping. Occasional climbing stairs, walking across campus, stooping and reaching. Constant communication using both spoken and written means. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.

    Work Environment/Work Week/Travel
    Work performed in a typical office environment with the use of computer, phone and office equipment. Duties performed during standard business hours, additional time may be required to meet business needs or deadlines. Occasional travel to distance campuses and required meetings and/or trainings.

    Hiring Range: Min $14.28 per hour to Mid $18.28 per hour, non-exempt
