The College of Arts, Letters and Education invites applications for a special faculty position, Lecturer in Vocal Music, in the Department of Music to begin mid-September, 2017.

The Music Department is seeking a colleague with a strong commitment to students, collegiality, and outside partnerships.

The faculty member hired for this position will be welcomed into an academic community dedicated to cultural diversity, community engagement, and social justice.

Teaching: a typical workload for this position will involve 45 credits per academic year, subject to department needs.
Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the areas of Diction, Vocal Pedagogy, Conducting and Opera Workshop.

Additionally, all faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

Conditions of Employment

This is a one year appointment only for AY2017-2018.

The required start date for this position is 09/15/2017. To be considered eligible for appointment into the position, applicants must be available and able to start in the position no later than 09/15/2017.

Required Qualifications:

- DMA or Equivalent Vocal Performance or Conducting

- At least three years of college level teaching experience

- Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal accessibility, of our students, faculty, staff and the public.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who offer one or more of the following preferred qualifications:

- Significant Vocal performance and teaching accomplishments

- Accomplishments as a conductor

-Accomplishments in outreach and recruiting activities
