Instructor of Graphic Design
Arkansas State University - Beebe, a two-year residential community college a part of the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a full-time, promotion and tenure eligible, Instructor or Assistant Professor of Graphic Art & Design to begin January 2018.
The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of graphic art and design and teach 1000 and 2000 level courses in Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Graphic Illustration, Visual Fine Arts (Art Appreciation), and Modern Art History. Online instruction will be required.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Macintosh computers, be proficient in Adobe Suite software, and maintain all operational aspects of the graphic art and design laboratory.
The ideal candidate will maintain a roster of advisees, assist with curriculum development and review, participate in program assessment, actively engage in student recruitment and student retention initiatives, and committee service.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire for teaching and community engagement rather than research and publishing.
Master's degree in Art with a concentration in Graphic Art, Graphic Design, or closely related field. One to three years teaching experience and/or professional graphic design experience is required.
A MFA or terminal degree with a concentration in Graphic Art and/or Graphic Design. Three to five years teaching and/or professional experience is preferred.
