Position Summary

To provide financial aid counseling to students and coordinate all activities related to detail management programs for all enrolled past and present students.

Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                            

  • Provide loan repayment counseling to students in repayment of federal loans.
  • Assist student with completing in-school deferment, forbearance and hardship forms.
  • Counsel and assist students in getting out of default as quickly as possible to improve institutional default rate.
  • Responsible for entrance and exit loan counseling.
  • Work with federal loan servicers to provide updated information on graduation, withdrawal and last date of attendance for students that do not return.
  • Coordinate and submit appeal process for draft cohort default rate.
  • Maintain a thorugh knowledge of federal regulations.
  • Reporting as required and other duties assigned by Director and Assistant Director.
  • Carries a student load.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; two years of Financial Aid experience, ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Completes FSA coach for Beginner and Intermediate within the first 90 days of employment.  Present to Director of FA with completion certificate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, strong computer and automation skills and the ability to relate to a diverse

population.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

Position requires walking, sitting, and able to lift 25 pounds.
