Posting Summary:
The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia seeks a Laboratory and Research Technician 2 to work in the lab of Dr. Kenneth Pfister.

The incumbent performs experiments in the field of bio-medical research; participates in the investigation of the function and regulation of microtubule-based motor proteins in neurons.

This position also performs experiments utilizing molecular biology, cell culture, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy, and other tasks to support biomedical research under the supervision of the principal investigator.

Applicants must have an Associate's Degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience or a related science. Position requires at least two years of biomedical research experience, which may include student experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and may substitute for experience.

This position is restricted and is contingent upon the continuation of funding.
