Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Infectious Disease and International Health Division is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant. The position provides complex administrative support to the Division and several divisional faculty members. The position is responsible for the organization and administration of the office, drafting of correspondence, making travel arrangements, maintaining calendars, communication distribution, administrative support for team members, and ensuring that licensures and curricula vitae are up-to-date. Additionally, the position also plans and provides logistical support for special events sponsored by the Division.

Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma and a minimum of four years of relevant experience, preferably in an academic physician office and/or hospital setting. A combination of education and related experience may also be considered. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required. Knowledge of administrative procedures and general office practices is required. Excellent oral and written communications skills in daily interactions are required as well as the ability to maintain professional calendars with frequent changes, provide excellent customer service to a diverse group of physicians, and staff and work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines is preferred, as well as knowledge of manuscript online process procedures and the ability to prepare and edit presentations. Experience with Epic, UVA Integrated Systems, PO Purchaser and UBI is also preferred.
