Job Description
The Mayborn School of Journal Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Media Technical Manager I to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Thorough knowledge of current technical aspects and operation of digital media field, including web, video and audio.
* Knowledge and ability to maintain a variety of digital equipment, including cameras, audio recorders, decks, dubbing devices, etc.
* Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills in audio and video software and hardware problems.
* Ability to make minor repairs to audio, video and other digital equipment.
* Ability to work in both Macintosh and PC environment.
* Ability to install, test and maintain network systems for digital media, including web, video, audio and stills.
* Ability and willingness to stay updated on technical developments in digital media, including web, video and audio.
* Knowledge of FCC broadcast regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of audio, video, or interactive media production experience; prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Extensive knowledge of principles of audio, video, and interactive media production.
* Considerable knowledge of audio and video recording techniques.
* Ability to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, etc.
* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in equipment or software.
* Some positions may require knowledge of copyright law and its applications to A/V materials.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Five years of broadcasting, maintenance and repair experience.
* FCC general class license and Society of Broadcast Engineer certification.
* Experience working with TriCaster Video Production System, Final Cut, and Adobe Premier software.
* Experience hiring and supervising full and part time employees.
* Ability to oversee operation of equipment room (video, audio equipment, etc.).
* Ability to assist in preparation of budgets and purchasing of video, audio and other digital equipment.
* Ability to train faculty and students in broadcast and digital equipment.
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
