Job Description

The Non-credit Continuing Education Instructor is dedicated to transferring knowledge and application of new skills for all Microsoft Courses. The instructor will thrive in an accelerated, hands-on, instructor-led computer lab environment. The position is student service focused while executing processes for tracking attendance, student progress and grading, while maintaining effective communication with continuing education staff.

Required Skills

Provide instruction of Microsoft advanced level content to adult learners of Microsoft Courses.
  • Expert Level knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016, 2013 (Access, Excel, VBA Programming)
  • Experience with MS Project, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Office 2016, 2013 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Energetic and engaging training approach with adult learners.
  • Ability to apply course content to daily work scenarios
  • Schedule flexibility.
  • Ability to interface with a wide variety of adult learners
  • Handle student concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Confirm course grading is complete and accurate.
  • Notify Program Coordinator of technical, course material and student issues.
  • Ensure student survey participation. Act on survey results for continuous learning and improvement

  • Suggest innovative and progressive courses for our students.
  • Cooperate and collaborate as a member of continuing education team.
  • Ability to interface with a wide variety of staff.

Required Experience
  • Two+ years training or classroom instruction experience. May include delivering training information to peers, staff and management both individually and in groups.
  • Expert Level knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016, 2013 (Access, Excel, VBA Programming)
  • Experience with MS Project, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft Office 2016, 2013 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to be prepared and deliver numerous technology topics.
  • Willingness to explore and learn new technology and college processes.
  • Maintains professional demeanor and ethical practices at all times.
  • All positions require applicants to complete a background check.
  • Timely completion of required Staff Development Training.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle. Driving to deliver onsite training for corporate clients may be an option.

Daytime classes are scheduled 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Evening classes are scheduled 6:00 pm – 9:30pm Monday through Thursday. (Courses are scheduled based on contact hours.)Schedule flexibility.
