University of North Texas Health Science Center - Professor/Associate Professor
The Associate Director is expected to participate in and support all activities of the Center for Human Identification. The role is to serve the needs of the various Units of the Center in a leader and mentor capacity and to promote efforts for the long term viability of the Center. In carrying out these responsibilities, the Associate Director is expected to have an associated faculty position commensurate with qualifications. The individual will be expected to work closely with multiple stakeholders in the science, legal, governmental and private communities as well as members of UNTHSC. * Direct operations of UNT Center for Human Identification laboratories in the absence of the Director.* Assist in the approval, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of all policies and procedures pertinent to the management system.* Advise on quality assurance issues.* Assist in interpretation and troubleshooting of routine casework.* Design and develop new molecular biology methodologies for casework applications.* Assist with current research activities and develop a research program.* Publish in peer-reviewed journals.* Procure funding for ongoing research programs and service enterprises.* Mentor students.* Attend professional meetings.* Provide expert witness services, as required.* Offer client support as needed.* Communicate Center programs and issues in a public forum.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
