The Mayborn School of Journal Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Media Technical Manager I to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Thorough knowledge of current technical aspects and operation of digital media field, including web, video and audio.* Knowledge and ability to maintain a variety of digital equipment, including cameras, audio recorders, decks, dubbing devices, etc.* Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills in audio and video software and hardware problems.* Ability to make minor repairs to audio, video and other digital equipment.* Ability to work in both Macintosh and PC environment.* Ability to install, test and maintain network systems for digital media, including web, video, audio and stills.* Ability and willingness to stay updated on technical developments in digital media, including web, video and audio.* Knowledge of FCC broadcast regulations.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of audio, video, or interactive media production experience; prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Extensive knowledge of principles of audio, video, and interactive media production.* Considerable knowledge of audio and video recording techniques.* Ability to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, etc.* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in equipment or software.* Some positions may require knowledge of copyright law and its applications to A/V materials.
