The University of Vermont Division of Neurosurgery and its academic medical center, The University of Vermont Medical Center, is seeking a board certified or board eligible skull base/vascular neurosurgeon. Preference will be given to candidates with broad-based clinical experience and with demonstrated excellence in the academic environment. Subspecialty fellowship training in skull base/vascular neurosurgery is preferred. The successful candidate must be board certified/board eligible in neurosurgery and eligible for Vermont medical licensure. Academic appointment will be the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor commensurate with experience in the Clinical Scholar Pathway.

The UVMMC Division of Neurosurgery was founded by Dr. Raymond M.P. (Pete) Donaghy in 1948. Dr. Donaghy was a pioneer in vascular microneurosurgery and established the world's first microsurgery research and training laboratory at UVM in 1958. UVMMC continues to have an active skull base surgical research laboratory with dedicated research space and personnel.
This individual must have demonstrable expertise in skull base and vascular neurosurgery, providing continuing medical education for the area health care providers, and a commitment to mentoring dedicated neurosurgical residents and medical students in basic science and clinical research. The principal teaching responsibility involves neurosurgical resident and medical student education. Opportunities for basic science/clinical research and performing of additional department and/or administrative duties exist as assigned by the Department and Division Chair.
