Provide generalized and specialized custodial project cleaning services to Residential Life buildings on a daily basis for university facilities in a team setting. Project locations and tasks will vary. Assist with coordinating work for the project team with direction from senior management and functional supervision from the third shift supervisor. Respond to any emergencies in all the Custodial Units as needed. Serve as a lead worker and perform custodial services as assigned; secures assigned buildings; responds to special cleaning and set-up requests; schedules work activities to meet set priorities and unexpected clean-ups while adhering to scheduling needs. Provides functional supervision including training, verifying attendance, coordinating coverage for absent workers and special set-up activities, reviewing work, reporting performance deficiencies to the appropriate Maintenance Unit Supervisor and reporting building maintenance needs. Access information utilizing appropriate desktop applications. Promote a culture of service excellence that encourages safety first and demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. May operate University vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School Diploma and two years' related experience required. Ability to read, write and speak English required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check may be required. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with in a highly flexible environment required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required with strong customer service experience. Ability to successfully complete ten-hour OSHA training on safety and health issues. Lifting up to 62.5 lbs, Pulling/Pushing up to 70 lbs, climb ladders required. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening.
