The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Medical Center seeks a Clinical Practice Physician (CPP) to provide outreach anatomic and clinical pathology services at regional hospitals in central and northern Vermont and western New Hampshire, as well as scheduled autopsy coverage and resident training at the University of Vermont Medical Center. This full-time position will be based at Central Vermont Medical Center, near Montpelier, and the successful applicant will work as part of a team of board-certified pathologists providing state-of-the-art patient care in several regional hospitals, including as the medical director for the clinical laboratories.
This position requires strong anatomic pathology expertise and clinical laboratory management experience, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous work experience as a pathologist in community practice is highly desirable. Applicants must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Fellowship training in surgical pathology and/or in a subspecialty with Board certification is desirable. Opportunities to participate in health services research projects that address the role of pathologists in promoting improved patient care and outcomes may be possible for interested applicants.
