Position Details

Administer and provide guidance of the University benefits programs for employees, retirees, and their eligible dependents: insurance programs (medical, dental, life, and long-term disability,) flexible spending program, and retirement savings programs (403(b) and 457(b) employer-sponsored retirement savings plans.) Interpret and administer provisions of unrepresented employee handbooks, contracts, and collective bargaining agreements. Administer Unemployment Compensation for the University. Report to the Assistant Director of Benefits and Employee Operations.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related public management/social science field required minimum four years of related human resources management experience to utilize comprehensive knowledge of benefits, labor relations, compensation, and/or payroll administration to effectively advise and administer cases required. Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations required. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and data base applications required. Experience with HRIS/Benefits systems and various complex, interactive website processing tools required. Effective interpersonal, written communication, organizational and analytical skills required. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality required. Experience working effectively with a wide range of employees, affiliates, family members, dependents, and external support person required.

Desirable Qualifications
PHR and/or Benefits Administration certification, knowledge of Peoplesoft/HCM.
