Perform mail services department delivery and processing functions within the Bailey/Howe Library. Responsibilities include: sort inbound U.S. and campus mail, prepare shipments of Libraries materials, and deliver material to Library departments. Operate UPS computer manifest for processing shipments. Use postal meter machines for applying correct postage amounts. Unpack, verify, and deliver book shipments. Respond to customer inquiries and resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction. Drive university vehicle to deliver Library material.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School Diploma and two years related experience to include one year in a mailroom setting required. Specific physical requirements apply based on job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening. Valid Vermont driver's license or ability to obtain, and driver's check required. Must be able to lift/carry 20 lbs. frequently, 70 lbs. occasionally and push/pull 50 lbs.; climb ladder and walk/stand for prolonged periods of time. Repetitive forward reaching required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in a Library setting highly desirable.
