SUMMARY:

The individual in this position works under the direct supervision of the State 4-H Leader and is responsible to the GA 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees. This position is responsible for the daily management and operations of the GA 4-H Foundation which supports the Georgia 4-H programs and the five Georgia 4-H facilities. The individual in this position must be self-motivated and must work collaboratively with the state 4-H faculty, 4-H center directors and program coordinators at the five 4-H facilities in order to secure private funding that are required to make the Georgia 4-H program successful.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of a combination of education and development, fundraising or related professional experience.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in public relations, business, or education. Knowledge of 4-H and Cooperative Extension is highly desirable, and a Master's degree is preferred.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and direct communications plan and strategies, serve as the primary fund development contact for the GA 4-H Foundation and spend a significant amount of time in face-to-face solicitation of major individual, corporate and foundation prospects.
  • Responsible for a long-range strategy including a development plan and comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Develop and maintain sound financial practices.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of the 4-H Foundation staff.
