Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director, N.U. in Program Administration is accountable for the day to day oversight of each assigned off site location. This role interacts with the onsite staff to ensure that all agreements, promises, and other commitments made via contract and other obligations are fulfilled. This position requires significant interaction with departments, institutions, and individuals both on and off campus in a fast-paced international environment. As such, the Assistant Director possess excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Additionally, this position demands a significant amount of patience, flexibility, and initiative.

The Assistant Director will take proactive steps to serve the N.U.in participants and parents in collaboration with Northeastern University colleagues and international partners with a constant dedication to operational improvements and the implementation of a high-quality program. Overall, the Assistant Director will develop necessary steps to promote success for the N.U.in participants and the N.U.in Program, while maintaining the mission of NU Global and Northeastern University.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in higher education, international education, or related field preferred.
• Two - five years of higher education, with preferred focus on international higher education, administrative experience or related educational experience and experience working with students is required. Working with staff and students in an international long term (semester) setting is desired.
• Proven ability to approve and manage budget line item expenditures required.
• High level knowledge of student life, international travel, and international cultures as they impact the student studying abroad required.
• Working knowledge of VISA requirements / sophistication preferred.
• Minimum two years supervisory experience managing part time and full time experienced and entry level staff needed. Experience managing remote staff is preferred.
• High level of process flows understanding and the ability to work well in a team environment with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
• Customer service and event planning experience is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, advising and intercultural communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, and social media.
• Possess strong interpersonal and writing skills.
• Ability to exercise sharp critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
• Detail oriented and strong organization, prioritization, time management, and follow-through skills.
