Quality Assurance Manager

Accountability: Reports to Operations Manager, and Vice President
Job Summary: Oversees the Quality Management System; including creating and maintaining procedures, auditing the QMS periodically, Monitors and controls the quality of product and processes through the Quality Management Systems and Manufacturing processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensuring all in-house production requirements adhere to planned schedules, and to ensure that all job documentation and material are complete and correct prior to their release for production;
responding to any product quality related problems that may arise during the manufacturing and shipping processes, whether within the Companys facility or at a sub-contractor;
The quality of all product manufactured by the Company, and its sub-contractors, via a planned program of QC inspection, including incoming material and components, first piece, end stage and final.
ensuring all equipment and gauging required for use in QC inspection is fit for use prior to its release;
planning, scheduling all calibration activity for measuring, monitoring and test equipment to maintain their integrity;
liaising with the Production Manager to monitor all production, both in-house and by sub-contractors, to ascertain the QC inspection needs;
reviewing, with the Production Manager and others as necessary, all non-conforming material received from suppliers and sub-contractors and determining the actions required;
organizing and monitoring supplier quality surveys and audits;
planning and managing the Quality Management System, including maintaining and controlling the Quality Manual and any associated procedures and documentation;
preparing and implementing a program of audits and reviews of the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and SAE AS9100:2004 standards;
aiding the determination of the applicable regulatory authorities whose requirements may have an impact on the Customers requirements and their product and for ensuring those requirements are included in the formal Customer Requirement review;
liaising with interested external parties and ensuring Customers and applicable regulatory authorities have appropriate access to the Quality System documentation.
Evaluation of Customer Returns

Skills and Education Requirements:

Bachelors Degree and direct Aerospace CNC Manufacturing experience.
Ability to work as a team player and department leader to motivate personnel to remain on schedule
Ability to perform inspections to confirm inspectors findings, and knowledge of inspection techniques including CMM operations and Digital Product Definition criteria and inspection to native CAD models;
Ability to maintain a Calibration System to ANSI Z540;
Ability to maintain a Quality Management System to AS9100, ISO9001
Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspect Report;
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
Experience with ERP Systems such as JOBBOSS and QMS systems such as Uni-Point


Preference to a Quality Manager currently working in the Aerospace industry
5 to 10 years Aerospace QMS experience
AS9100 Lead Auditor Certificate
ASQ CQE or CQM or seeking certification
