The University of Virginia's Cardiac Biomechanics Group, directed by Dr. Jeff Holmes, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop and test computational models of growth and remodeling in response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). In collaboration with Dr. Ken Bilchick (Cardiology), the Research Associate will spearhead the development and testing of a new Virtual CRT software platform that allows clinicians to customize CRT therapy for individual patients.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Computer Science, or a related field by the start date, and must have extensive experience with computational modeling. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Successful applicants will have performed computational modeling studies that resulted in lead-author publications in biomedical engineering and/or computational modeling journals. Prior experience in MATLAB programming is preferred, as is experience designing software user interfaces.
