Job Summary This position will oversee day-to-day research experiments in the Food Safety and Microbiology laboratories in the Poultry Science building and on occasions at the Poultry Processing plant on the Research Farm. Position is responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting research on microbiological spoilage and safety of food products. This person should be very organized, be able to effectively communicate, and be able to use Microsoft Office software as well as SAS software. This person would be responsible for conducting experiments as well as assisting students with ongoing projects. In addition, this person would maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory, maintain records and documentation regarding equipment and projects, maintain equipment in proper working order, maintain inventory of chemical supplies, and prepare data for analysis. Area-specific certification and/or training may be required and other training will be provided as appropriate.
