Under the general supervision of the UW-Madison Accounts Payable Financial Program Manager this position will be responsible for processing payments for the University. This may include receiving, auditing and processing invoices for payment, payments to individuals and direct payments utilizing PeopleSoft, BussPO, Perceptive Content and Microsoft Office Suite. Independent decision making skills, excellent communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail are critical for this position. This position is an active paricipant in continuous improvement. UW-Madison Accounting Services was granted full pre-audit delegated authority from UW System in 1989 and is therefore ultimately responsible for proper controls and transaction accuracy in a timely manner.
Standard business hours. Monday through Friday.

Strong applicants will have experience working in Accounts Payable and experience pre-auditing payment requests and invoices. They will also show solid customer service skills and experience in a professional or financial setting and experience using a financial system such as Peoplesoft. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
Starting hourly rate will be no less than $18.03 for Financial Specialist Senior. Starting hourly rate will be based on skills and experience.
