Summary of Job Duties
The Instructor of Spanish positions will teach classes in the Spanish language, as well on the culture and literature across a range of levels. This position will participate actively in curriculum development and extra-curricular activities in the Spanish section and in allied programs. The Instructor will be responsible for teaching four classes per semester. This position may also have course coordination duties.
These are for nine-month contracts renewable on a year-to-year basis, contingent upon performance, needs, and available funding.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- Master's degree in Spanish conferred by the start of employment
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English
- Teaching experience and evidence of quality teaching across a range of levels
- Ph.D. in Spanish (or in ABD status)
- Experience with online teaching
- Experience with Spanish for heritage speakers
- Demonstrated background in creative writing
- Experience in course and web materials coordination
- Innovative teaching experience with web-based technology
